As a clinical social worker I believe that individual, family, and community healing takes place not in solitiude but rather within the context of supportive and safe relationships.  I see my role as a therapist as one such role that facilitates the ever-changing journey of self-realization and mindful cultivation.  I have a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Social Work.  My training and experiences at such places as Rape Crisis and Domestic Violence agencies, a local County Mental Health Center, and two schools for children with social-emotional differences, while varied, have all instilled in me the importance of holistic healing that addresses mind, body, and spirit.   Below is a more in-depth description of my specializations...

Children who have experienced acute or chronic impacts to their development can often exhibit emotional, behavioral, cognitive and/or social differences. I utilize a number of different modalities including play therapy, art, dyad/peer sessions, and/or family interventions to address where and how development was affected to ultimately increase a child's ability to think, relate, communicate and understand their internal world of thoughts and feelings.

                              *Social-Emotional Differences
                             (Autism/Asperger's Spectrum)

Adolescence can be a time of mixed emotions for all those involved; teens struggling to find independence, identity, and purpose may often need additional support as can their taxed family systems. I approach adolescents with the respect they deserve while simultaneously holding the importance of involving family members to support and strengthen these vital relationships.
